Teen Dramas
Relevance of Teen Dramas to Our Lives
I chose to base answer off of the Disney teen drama Liv and Maddie:Triangle a Rooney (10:18-15:08)About 40% of this video shows serious social issues relating to teenagers (true love vs fake love, hiding secrets from good friends). 20% shows everyday aspects of teenage life (going to school, talking to friends, watching TV). And 40% shows teenage relationships (love interest, romantic couples, supportive friendships, family).
These scenes could be relevant to our lives as we could be hiding secrets from our friends as not to hurt them. We should also surround ourselves with friends and family that will support and help us through our struggles which can sometimes be a dif. Romantic love is also a big thing of this generation although it is not always portrayed in a good way this is a good way of showing how it should be.
Alough a lot of this is a good representation of everyday life we most probably don't break into a duet with our love interest we would usually just talk to them. And most of us probably don't have a friend as crazy as willow.
Hi Max!
ReplyDeleteHere are some comments for consideration to help you learn from this homework assignment and keep grasping what it is Cambridge is needing from you this year:
-Good synopsis of the scene in the first paragraph
- Still very surface observations about issues reflected in this scene which need to be taken to the next level of analysis (perhaps giving examples or jusy expanding on key words like ‘relationships’ – are you talking about dating relationships, friendships, family relationships. Observations are not wrong, just need to be fleshed out in a bit more detail.
- The main question is, “is this teen drama relevant to your life’. This needs to be answered on a personal level as the question is posed as a personal question. In answering ‘yes’ or ‘no’, there needs to be an explanation of why this is the case and in what way does the issues outlined earlier mirror struggles, issues or parts of life in your own life.
- Your last paragraph was a very short paragraph that was a good start (on the right track), just needs more detail, more linking to the scene with examples and more explanation of ‘why’ and ‘how’ in answering the end question.
- Think about font/size and background colour – is it easy to read? Is the font clear enough? White on brown and with the chosen font/size made me work harder to read it.
Overall I feel you started on the right track, you just needed to triple the amount you wrote and include explanations, examples and work hard at answering the main question you're being asked. I'm looking forward to seeing you putting these points into action and seeing the improvement in your next homework assignment!
